Chris Conway
Candidate for City Council, Fort Collins, CO
Chris cofounded Yes In My Backyard (YIMBY) Fort Collins, where he advocates for walkable, transit-oriented neighborhoods that reduce car dependence and protect open space from sprawl. Chris has worked with leaders at the city, county, and state level to pass land-use reforms that make housing more affordable and more sustainable.
Chris' parents founded Trees, Water & People; Chris learned early on that true environmentalism means combining conservation with social justice. Chris plans to bring that mindset to policymaking on City Council.
Chris’s Vision
Build Smart to Protect
Wild Spaces
By focusing on compact, walkable neighborhoods, we can preserve open space, reduce pollution, and keep nature close to home.
Fight Climate Change Locally
Walkable communities, better transit, and smart land use lower emissions and reduce our carbon footprint. I’ll champion new clean energy tech for homes and buildings.
Reduce Traffic &
Air Pollution
Every time someone can walk or bike instead of drive, we all win. Let’s invest in transit and infrastructure that helps people live near where they work and play.
Boost Climate Resilience
We need to prepare for a changing climate. That means shade trees, fire-ready homes, and green infrastructure that keeps our neighborhoods safe and strong.
“Addressing the climate crisis starts right here at home. In my first term, I’ll work to cut emissions by building more housing near jobs and transit, expanding safe bike and bus networks, and investing in renewable energy that creates good local jobs. By growing within our existing footprint, Fort Collins can reduce sprawl, protect open space, and lead the state in climate-smart urban policy.”
