Isabel Goolie is a Junior at Saint Michael’s College. She is studying Business and Marketing as a double major with a minor in psychology. She also plays for the women's Ice hockey team and is the Marketing and Communications Officer for the Saint Michael’s Student Investment Fund. Her value for the environment came from growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, where she was constantly met with real-time proof that climate action was needed, and soon. She spent most of her time hiking and exploring the nature she grew up around, and she was always shown reminders that there was an environmental issue developing in front of our eyes. Isabel's winters went from many feet of snow to more like inches of snow, and melting periods throughout the wintertime. One of her favorite glaciers to go hike by, Portage Glacier, has significantly decreased in size every year as she has gotten older. Having a mother who worked for the Environmental Protection Agency, she was brought up to believe that this was something she must continue to value and fight for.
