Carter’s Vision

Green Infrastructure

  • Invest in green infrastructure like fare-free public transit, safer street designs, and electric vehicle charging - saving residents money on transportation costs.

Weatherization

  • Rapidly weatherize our city’s aging housing stock, saving residents money on utility bills and creating jobs locally.

Renewable Energy

  • Invest in new solar, wind, and energy efficiency.

  • Responsibly phase out all carbon-based energy.

“Burlingtonians understand that climate change has arrived in Vermont and that we have a moral and economic responsibility to ourselves and future generations to act. While our city can’t solve this on our own, there are common sense measures we can take to increase resiliency, reduce our emissions, and lower costs on consumers.”
