Michael Farrington
Regional Transportation District (RTD) Board Candidate, Greater Denver Metro Area, CO
Michael is a land-use lawyer, housing and transit advocate, and candidate running to represent his hometown of Commerce City, CO on the Regional Transportation District (RTD) Board. In addition to joining his neighbors and environmental organizations to stop the development of a large data center in the region, he’s used his expertise to help craft and pass statewide legislation that will reduce vehicle emissions by ensuring denser housing development near public transit, such as the Home Act and HB24-1313. If elected, Michael will bring that same expertise and approach with land-use to the RTD Board and will work to restore trust and increase ridership.
“"Climate action is ultimately about building communities where people have real choices in how they get around and where they live. Reliable transit, more homes near jobs and services, and walkable neighborhoods can reduce car trips, cut pollution, and protect open land while making everyday life more affordable and convenient. I will work to get Colorado's transit system back on track and am excited for Run On Climate's support in these efforts.”
