Emiliano Arellano
City Council Candidate, Lynwood, CA
A proud Lynwood native, Emiliano is now running for City Council to make City Hall show up for residents the same way he’s shown up for his community his whole life.
The responsibility to serve others started early. As a student at 32nd Street USC Magnet, he founded his own organization to feed people experiencing homelessness and support local animal shelters.
At Cal State Dominguez Hills, he earned degrees in Public Administration and Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Environmental Studies. He spent four years building the campus's urban farm to grow fresh food in a neighborhood where it was hard to find. That work deepened his commitment to fighting for clean, healthy neighborhoods, and he remains active with East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice in Southeast LA.
Emiliano is running for Lynwood City Council because residents deserve leaders who show up, listen, and respond.
“Climate action starts at the local level, and I believe investing in sustainable, resilient infrastructure is one of the most important steps we can take to protect our communities. From improving our streets and sidewalks to expanding green spaces and investing in cleaner, more efficient infrastructure, we have an opportunity to build a healthier, safer, and more sustainable city for generations to come.”
