Bryant Odega
City Council Candidate, Los Angeles, CA
Bryant Odega is a public school teacher, community organizer, Sunrise Movement climate activist, and lifelong resident of Los Angeles City Council District 15. He is the son of immigrants and a proud UCLA alumnus, the first in his family to graduate from college.
Bryant served on the Harbor Gateway South Neighborhood Council, fighting for budget transparency and public input–as the lone voice advocating for homeless housing solutions, pushing back on police militarization, and fighting to end community oil drilling.
If elected, Bryant would be the first person of color in nearly 100 years to ever represent District 15, which is nearly 80% POC. With 2,347 active and idle oil wells, factories, warehouses, and heavy diesel truck traffic in the district, Bryant and his neighbors have experienced the devastating health and environmental impacts of a fossil fuel economy first hand.
Bryant, an organizer with the Sunrise Movement, will fight tirelessly for environmental justice, an end to fossil fuel extraction in LA, and a bold LA Green New Deal that creates good paying union jobs building a fossil-free city.

“We can't afford to wait. The City of Los Angeles has a moral duty to combat climate change and advance environmental justice.
To combat this crisis we need public investments at a massive scale that protect Black, indigenous, and communities of color and a just transition that protects and empowers workers.
By electing bold climate leaders, L.A. has the opportunity to lead on climate and create thousands of union jobs in the process.”
