Carter Neubieser
Candidate for City Council, Burlington, VT
Carter is a resident of Riverside Ave, where his partner Sophia and he recently purchased a home and are starting a family. Carter has years of policy and community experience. As his day job he serves as Lead Fundraiser for 350 Vermont, a climate justice nonprofit focused on transitioning Vermont off of polluting energy systems.
He’s been active in the Burlington community for nearly a decade and is currently serving on the Ward 1 NPA Steering Committee. He’s worked on a number of electoral campaigns including Senator Sanders’ 2018 and 2020 campaigns, as well as Former Senate Pro Tempore Tim Ashe’s bid for Lt. Governor.
His policy experience includes working as city council support staff for Councilor Hightower and former Councilor Jack Hanson to pass a number of initiatives including universal rental weatherization, a charter change allowing the city to regulate climate pollution from buildings, and more.
If elected, Carter will work to advance ambitious climate justice policy while improving conditions for working people and strengthening local democracy.
